One thing I’d liked to start for the last couple of months was writing my blog in German and English.
Right now I’m still sort of testing how to do it best. There are a couple of wordpress plugins that seem to offer some sort of multilanguage support – but until today I neither had the time for this sort of thing nor found any of the plugins’ decriptions convincing enough to give them a try. Gengo might by now be approriate to my needs and as it’s compatible with the current wordpress version I decided to just try it. What’s allready working: You get displayed the postings in the language according to your browser’s configuration (at the moment either English or German) or in the blog’s default language (English). Maybe I’ll start trying out some more gimmicks in the next few days.
So stay tuned and (maybe) enjoy my blog in German and English from now on.

[Update: 2007-07-20] I recently found out about jLanguage and I think it’s a great plug-in, so I switched from gengo. I think it’s the perfect solution for my needs, as it just offers what I was looking for: A very simple way of providing multi language support! And it even has got those tiny flags out of the box! I’m impressed so I can only recommend jLanguage.
